Treasure Hunting at “A Current Affair”

Vintage shopping is my kryptonite. There’s something magical about it—it’s like an escape for my mind, sifting through racks of history, hunting for treasures you can’t find anywhere else. Recently, I had the absolute best time at A Current Affair in Brooklyn, a dream vintage show filled with one-of-a-kind finds and the most creative people behind each booth.

I came home with a piece that I know will be a forever staple in my closet: a one-of-a-kind vintage Chanel necklace. Gold-plated (of course!), it feels timeless yet bold, the kind of piece you’ll wear year-round and always get compliments on. It reminds me of the charm necklace in my collection that belonged to my mother and great-grandmother. Since I have two daughters, I’m constantly on the lookout for unique pieces I can pass down to each of them—this necklace is already on its way to being a cherished heirloom. (It’s getting re-plated as we speak!)

And can we talk about the vibes of this show?! Feathers, leopard, gold, leather—the more fun, funky, and fabulous, the better. I was in heaven. The show reminded me why I’ll always love fashion that stands out. As I always say, “I was not made to be subtle.”

Here are a few of my favorite finds:

  • A colorful plaid coat (so chic and perfect for fall).

  • A fur shawl that felt like pure glamour.

  • A sheer cape with a fur collar (yes, it’s as dreamy as it sounds).

  • A red coat with leopard trim—because leopard is basically a neutral in my world.

  • A sleeveless snakeskin dress for when you want to channel your inner rock star.

  • Cool, oversized sunglasses that are begging for a fabulous outfit to match.

  • A black-and-white fur coat that screams old Hollywood glam.

Inspired? I’ve added a few pieces below that are similar to what I discovered at A Current Affair. Because we were born to stand out, weren’t we?!

Stay fabulous,
